When you're touring new homes and deciding which community you'd like to live in, you'll no doubt see extended lanais in the builder's model homes.
Extended lanais can be purchased as an upgrade if you are buying a brand new home. They're great for adding additional living and entertaining space to your new home, and you should get your investment back if you decide to sell your home in the future.
An extended lanai like this one below might cost $10,000 to $15,000 depending on size.
Keep in mind when touring new homes, national or regional builders won't add an extended lanai or make any changes to a quick move-in home (a completed new home, never lived in, with a certificate of occupancy).
The builder (or I) can recommend companies that will add one for you, after you've purchased the home.
If you are building a new home from the slab up, you have many more options available, and adding an extended lanai is one I highly recommend.
