Real Estate Statistics | Sarasota and Manatee Year to Date | David Barr Realtor

RASM (Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee) released year to date numbers for our real estate market.


The below red graph shows the number of active listings in Sarasota and Manatee Counties has dropped over the course of 2020.

Despite fewer homes available for sale, the number of homes under contract has increased.




What does this mean for you? If you're a home seller, it's a seller's market. My job is to market your home for sale virtually to the right buyers, so your home sale process is as convenient and comfortable for you as possible.


If you are buying a home, you may encounter multiple offers. You may want to make a back up offer. In these scenarios it's my job to make your offer as attractive as possible to a home owner, as well as your back up offer.


Anecdotally, a home used to come back on the market if an offer fell through about 20% of the time. Now it may be closer to 1/3 of the time. Lenders are cautious right now. A back up offer may be something we should discuss.
